Calen March Print Zine

Calen March is a love letter to the old Sega and arcade games I played as a kid like Gauntlet, Golden Axe and the like, and started as a campaign journal for my own solo play using BX.

Setting feel and naming  conventions of the NPCs  were kept to feel like the retro Japanese games of my childhood  I wanted to emulate, and care was taken with colors (all done by hand in watercolor and pen) to evoke that same feeling.

Here in full color and printed on high quality paper and heavy duty matte finish cover, you’ll traverse the March and assist or doom the village of Brightstone as you cross steel or hurl magic at Blood Drunk Torgool and his ogre elite. 

Uncover the secrets of the Darkskull Covenant and its dread master, Grave Kaiser.

Do battle with King Kraven as he relentlessly harries the region.

The whole thing is 20 pages of hand lettered and typewriter written analog fun, everything on the nose and embracing the old fantasy tropes instead of subverting them. 

There’s factions, home base, situations, dungeons, forts, ogres, goblins, a titanic construct to try to wake up, a cult to fight (or join), a temple to clear, and much more.
